Driving and parking
The beginning and end of the school day are busy times for both pedestrians and drivers. To help keep everyone safe, please follow these guidelines when driving or parking near Wakehurst Public School:
- park legally and safely in designated school zones
- obey all speed limits and traffic signs
- avoid U-turns or 3-point turns near school entrances
Access and Parking Information
- There are four pedestrian entry points: two on Glen Street, one at the end of Hawea Place and one via steps from Kapyong Street
- Parking is available along Glen Street and nearby streets unless signposted otherwise
- Please note the bus zone and no-stopping areas in front of the school on Glen Street
A school crossing supervisor is on duty before and after school to assist students and families. We ask all parents and carers to model safe behaviour by using the crossing and respecting traffic rules around the school.
Parking on school grounds
To maintain a safe environment for students, vehicle access to the school grounds is strictly limited. The staff car park and on-site vehicle areas are reserved for:
- school employees
- authorised service providers (e.g. maintenance, waste contractors, visiting performers)
The vehicle gate near the Glen Street pedestrian crossing remains closed at all times, with access permitted only for emergency services.
We thank our families for supporting student safety by keeping school grounds free from unauthorised vehicle traffic.
