Student opportunities and activities
At Wakehurst Public School, students are encouraged to get involved, try something new and grow beyond the classroom. We offer a variety of programs that build confidence, leadership and connection.

- sport and carnivals – including weekly sport, PSSA, swimming, athletics and cross country
- creative arts – choir, dance ensemble, band and performance opportunities
- leadership – through SRC, the buddy program and whole-school initiatives
- debating and public speaking – including the Premier’s Debating Challenge
- lunchtime clubs – such as Lego, Green Team, Drama and Junior Choir

- extension and enrichment – programs for high potential and gifted learners

Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
At Wakehurst PS, students build confidence, think critically and learn to speak with purpose. They take part in programs like the Premier’s Debating Challenge and our annual Public Speaking Competition—developing teamwork and communication skills..
Creative and performing arts
Students at Wakehurst PS can explore their talents through drama, music, choir, visual arts and dance. Opportunities include school performances, art displays, Sydney North Dance and the Festival of Choral Music.
Trips and excursions
